On 26th March 2025 Mumias East legislator Peter Kalerwa Salasya shared Tbt photos of an ordeal where he was attacked by goons in Kakamega town back in 2020 and the latest one which was on Sunday 23rd March 2025 during the Kenya Vs Gabon football Match at Nyayo Stadium which ended 1-2 in favour of Panthers from Gabon.
The legislator who has been a serious critic of the Kenya Kwanza Government has found himself in controversial scenarios which have been making waves on social media. The legislator who has risen from rags to riches has been hitting news headline especially on being attacked by goons in political events both in Kakamega County and outside the Western region.
On Wednesday 26th March 2025 Salasya took to his Facebook page by penning an emotional message about how he has been physically confronted by goons in his political career. He went ahead and shared pictures where he was seen nursing injuries after receiving beatings from goons whom he claims had been sent by his political enemies following his recent critics on an “opposition politician who joined Government”.
” I will cry because that is God’s verdict. The lesson here is, never touch the one anointed by God. Then I will also become president of this country at one time and own Nairobi as a person of great influence. Our God raises the despised people like us before men. I will not take a legal action against them but God will do for me.”
Those are the words of the vocal legislator whose attack on Sunday 23rd March 2025 has received mixed reactions from Kenyans. Many people took to their social media handles to critique the incident, terming the incident as a political witch-hunt and violation of human rights.
