A heated feud between popular Kenyan comedians Mulamwah and Oga Obinna has taken center stage on social media, drawing massive attention from fans and fellow celebrities. The ongoing clash, marked by online spats and allegations, has shed light on deeper tensions within Kenya’s entertainment industry.
The controversy began when Oga Obinna publicly revealed that he had been blocked by Mulamwah on Instagram. Speaking candidly, Obinna explained that he discovered the block after attempting to view Mulamwah’s profile—only to realize he had been shut out, while his friends still had access. The comedian also claimed he had been blocked by Ruth K, a rising entertainer signed under Mulamwah’s content label, suggesting the blocks were coordinated.
Adding fuel to the fire, Obinna said he was not invited to Mulamwah’s recent comedy show. “Everyone was invited except me,” Obinna stated in a video, expressing disappointment and questioning why Mulamwah would go to such lengths to keep him off.
In response, Mulamwah dismissed Obinna’s grievances, branding him as an “attention seeker.” He took to social media to challenge Obinna to create engaging content without name-dropping celebrities for just one week. “Sometimes, just keep quiet,” Mulamwah said, suggesting that Obinna’s relevance depends on creating drama with other public figures.
Regarding the blocked access and the show invite, Mulamwah maintained that his comedy show was a public event. “Anyone could attend. All you had to do was buy a ticket,” he said, rejecting claims of a deliberate snub.
The beef took a sharper turn with allegations involving content creator Dem Wa Facebook. Obinna claimed that Mulamwah warned her not to collaborate with him, allegedly calling Obinna a “washed-up” personality. According to Obinna, Dem Wa Facebook admitted that Mulamwah discouraged her from accepting deals involving him.
He also accused Mulamwah of failing to compensate Dem Wa Facebook and her manager for their work under his brand, fueling further criticism from fans who now question Mulamwah’s professionalism behind the scenes.
Social media platforms have since exploded with opinions, memes, and commentary, with fans taking sides and industry figures calling for peace. While some netizens support Obinna for speaking out, others back Mulamwah, arguing that Obinna thrives on controversy.
The feud remains unresolved, but one thing is clear: Kenya’s comedy scene is undergoing a dramatic shake-up and audiences are watching every move.
