Growing up, many of us were fed a script. Go to school, pass your exams, get a respectable job,
and everything will fall perfectly into place. That’s what parents, teachers, and society told us. If
you mentioned anything outside that path, like wanting to trade forex or becoming a content
creator, people would look at you as if you were dreaming too big or wasting your life.
Yet look around. The world has changed. The internet is literally a marketplace now. People are
making money in ways that didn’t even exist ten years ago. Forex traders are turning charts into
income. Content creators are building entire careers with a phone and some WiFi. Digital
marketers are helping brands blow up online. Meanwhile, some degree holders are stuck in
endless job hunts, even after doing everything right.
Let’s talk about forex for a second. It’s always the first thing labeled a scam, especially when
someone young is doing it. Yes, it can go wrong if you jump in without learning. Yes, losses
happen. Still, what is business without risk? People don’t call the Nairobi Securities Exchange a
scam, yet it’s the same world of trading and speculation. The difference is knowledge and
discipline. Banks do forex daily. So why can’t ordinary people learn it too?
Then there are content creators. Funny enough, everyone consumes their work. We scroll TikTok
for hours, binge-watch YouTube, listen to podcasts like music. Creators entertain us, teach us,
influence what we buy, and even shape culture. Yet some still act like it’s not a real job. Tell that
to the influencers buying homes, paying taxes, and building brands while doing what they love.
Digital marketing is the glue that holds it all together. Businesses now compete for clicks and
online attention. If a brand doesn’t show up on social media, is it even real? The people who
understand the internet, trends, and audiences are the ones making things happen behind the
scenes. They’re valuable. They deserve respect.
This doesn’t mean school is useless. Education still matters. What has changed is how we can be
educated. You can learn from YouTube tutorials, online courses, and personal experience, not
only inside a classroom with rows of desks. Knowledge today has no walls.
What really needs to change is how we view success. Why is someone doing what they love
always questioned, while someone miserable in a job is praised for being responsible? Why do
we still think success must follow a single path?
Money now follows creativity, consistency, and digital skills. This generation is not lazy. We’re
simply refusing to limit ourselves. We’re chasing more than just survival. We want financial
freedom. We want flexibility. We want to build lives that make sense to us.
So instead of looking down on forex traders, content creators, or digital marketers, maybe the
world should start asking how they do it. Because whether people like it or not, these careers are
the future. The earlier we accept that, the better.
We’re not lost. We’re evolving. And the hustle looks different now.
