A Bedsitter
Life in a bedsitter refers to the experience of living alone for the first time in a small one-room apartment relaying on yourself mentally making your own happiness. The first taste of independence is the first time you experience what is it to feel like to make your own decisions and rely on yourself without being controlled or guided.
At the start is full of excitement because of the freedom. Here you can arrange your space however you want, eat what you like, sleep at your choice of time and make your own ground rules. The responsibility that is ahead paying bills, rent, clothing and food this may be hard handling them at the time but the feeling of being responsible is usually great. You begin to realize to that managing time, money and emotions is not that simple as it seemed from the outside. Limiting yourself must occur in order for you to stay on budget.
Loneliness starts to creep in especially if you are used to being with your friends and family. In this you will need to start loving your own company every day. A bedsitter teaches resilience in subtle ways. You learn on how to solve problems by fixing the small challenges you encounter and figuring out how to stay motivated without anyone pushing you. Discovering who you are where nobody is watching you. Your habits, discipline and values become clearer.
This can be a place of growth, you start building routines, chasing your goals and creating a life that reflects your choices. Here is a mix of freedom, struggle, learning and growth. Its not always comfortable, but its often where real life begins.
